Drksir Certification and contact

Description

The DR-INC-300-R is a high-precision inclinometer with 0.005° absolute accuracy and RS485 output, built for wind turbine towers, transmission masts, and industrial structures, where settlement and verticality drift appear as fractions of a degree. This high-precision inclinometer covers a selectable ±5° / ±10° / ±20° / ±30° range on both axes and resolves 0.0007°. Modbus RTU over RS485 feeds a PLC, SCADA system, or data logger directly. The IP67 / IP68 (customizable) housing and -40°C ~ +85°C rating suit permanent outdoor installation, and the ±30° default model ships ready to mount.

Where This Sensor Is Used

  • Wind turbine tower verticality — tower inclination and foundation tilt on onshore turbines, measured continuously from commissioning onward. The 0.005° absolute accuracy and 0.0007° resolution pick up the slow differential settlement that eventually shows as a tower out of plumb.
  • Transmission tower and monopole inclination — long-term tilt trend on power transmission masts, telecom monopoles, and lighting columns, where the ±30° range covers the full deflection budget with room to spare.
  • Industrial structure attitude monitoring — steel frames, silos, and large skid-mounted equipment where alignment changes with load and thermal cycling.
  • Precision machine tool leveling — bed flatness and column verticality checks where a 0.005° repeatability target is tighter than a machinist’s level can resolve.
  • High-precision laser platform leveling — optical benches and laser reference platforms that must hold their angle while fixtures and supports move on them.

Why Choose Drksir

  • 15+ years designing and manufacturing tilt sensors for industrial and infrastructure monitoring
  • 3,000+ projects delivered across civil engineering, renewable energy, and transportation
  • Full range of industrial inclinometers from 0.1° to 0.001° accuracy, sharing one Modbus RTU register layout
  • In-house MEMS design and signal conditioning — not a rebranded OEM module
  • IP67 / IP68 protection options for harsh environment installation
  • Average service life ≥55,000 hours
  • 24-month warranty and lifetime application engineering support

How It Compares to Alternatives

  • Versus electrolytic tilt sensors — faster response, no fluid temperature sensitivity, no need to level the unit at install
  • Versus LVDT-based inclinometers — smaller form factor, no moving parts, immune to vibration-induced wear
  • Versus the 4-20mA version of the same sensor — identical mechanics and accuracy; RS485 carries several sensors on one bus and returns digital values with diagnostics, while 4-20mA suits analog input cards and very long cable runs
  • Versus consumer-grade MEMS modules — industrial -40°C ~ +85°C rating, IP-rated housing, factory calibration instead of uncalibrated raw output

Installation & Wiring

Mount the sensor on a flat, rigid surface (steel bracket or concrete anchor recommended). For highest accuracy, align the sensor’s X-axis to the primary direction of expected tilt.

The sensor uses a 4-core shielded cable for power and data:

For RS485 cable runs over 100 m, use shielded twisted pair and terminate the shield at one end only. Maximum recommended cable length is 1,200 m at 9600 baud.

OEM/ODM & Customization

Standard units ship from stock within 5 business days. Custom measuring ranges (±5° / ±10° / ±20° alternate to default ±30°), cable lengths, connector types, and protection-grade options (IP67 vs IP68) are available for OEM/ODM orders starting at 50 units. Typical custom lead time is 15-25 business days. Engineering drawings, communication protocol documentation, and integration support are provided free of charge.

FAQ

Q: Which measuring range should I select?

A: Select the smallest range that covers your expected tilt. Accuracy stays at 0.005° across all four options (±5° / ±10° / ±20° / ±30°), so the choice is about arc, not precision. Tower verticality and foundation settlement normally sit inside ±10°; the ±30° default leaves headroom for construction-phase movement and for installations whose mounting surface is not yet aligned. The default SKU ships with ±30°; other ranges are configured at the factory on request.

Q: What if I need a different accuracy or measuring range?

A: The wired inclinometer family covers 0.1° to 0.001° in one housing family and one register layout. For sub-millidegree structural work, step up to the 0.001° Ultra-High Accuracy RS485 Inclinometer (±5° / ±10° / ±20° / ±30°, 0.0005° resolution). For a wider arc on construction machinery, the 0.01° Industrial-Grade RS485 Inclinometer measures ±10° / ±30° / ±60° / ±90°. For general leveling and vehicle work at ±90°, the 0.1° General-Purpose RS485 Inclinometer is the lower-cost entry point. Switching tier does not change your integration code.

Q: What’s the difference between this sensor and the 4-20mA version?

A: Identical mechanics, accuracy, and dimensions. The RS485 version outputs digital data via Modbus RTU; the 0.005° High-Precision 4-20mA Inclinometer outputs a current loop proportional to tilt, preferred where PLC analog inputs are already in place or where long cable runs in electrically noisy environments are required.

Q: Does the sensor require recalibration in the field?

A: No field recalibration is required for normal operation. For safety-critical tower or structural work we recommend periodic verification against a reference fixture; the interval depends on your monitoring standard.

Q: Can the sensor be used in submerged installations?

A: The IP68 protection option (customizable) is specified for continuous immersion. The qualified depth and duration depend on the sealing configuration — request the datasheet for the figures for your installation.
